So I'm still living in Sheffield and trying to make the most of my days off. I'm still a total Peaks Noob though. I've only been around Ladybower so far.

Where can I go this weekend considering the conditions? I don't want to go bog snorkelling. Will anywhere be hard and fast?

I'll be riding alone probably on Monday so not looking to go into the back of beyond or anything. I just want to get my bearings and go sight seeing at this stage. Or should I just ride out to have a look at Greno and wait until things dry up?

Already got this guidebook if anyone wants to point out a route,

Greno and parkwood run well in all weathers all year.
It's not actually that wet in general yet so you'd be ok in a number of places. Around blackamoor maybe to explore

+1 for Greno/parkwood. I rode both last weekend to avoid the slop and they are riding great.
Peaks wise I would say the hayfield exams circuit is pretty all weather. Might be icy on Jacobs though which adds to the interest....

I've actually never been to Grenoside yet. Is there a way to ride there that's better than just going along Penistone road? I've only ever driven out that way and I'd like to leave the van at home if possible.

If i just head to the 'Green Woods Car Park' as it's listed on Google maps is it easy enough to find the trails?

Depending on where you live... you can ride through Malin Bridge, up to just before Worrall, down to Beeley woods to oughtibridge then ride up through/get lost in Wharncliffe. Alternatively you can ride out through Hillsborough Park and enter Beeley woods behind the Burger King/McDonalds at junction between Penistone Road and Herries road (signposted to Oughtibridge).

But you should explore the Peak District. Ride out on the city link through Ecclesall park to Ringinglow and explore Houndkirk moor, Blackamoor, totley moor. it's all quite dry (relatively speaking).
