I've just finished a bike build and holding the bike by the tip of the saddle it's almost perfectly balanced.

Is this correct or should it be weighted more to the front?

Not that I'm going to add lead weights or anything, I'm just interested to know if there's an ideal.

in the middle would be ideal. most geared ht's seem balanced. ss with forks are front heavy, rigid with gears back heavy.

FS with FOX forks - rear-heavy
HT with TORA forks - front-heavy

The bike balance point doesn't really affect much. It's you and the bike's balance point that's important.

Thanks.

It's a Scott Scale RC frame with DT Swiss XRC forks and a Rohloff hub.

I expected it to be rear heavy because of the hub, but it's not.
