And why do they seem so expensive nowadays? I must admit I haven't bought any for years but they all seem to be £30 for a wheels worth.
Last time I got a wheel built it was £20-£25 including spokes and the labour (I provided hub and rim).
Any ideas?
Hmm, let me think, where would I look to find cycling stuff on the net?
Now I swear to you I look on CR but they were all £30 when I looked, I have no idea what happened there. Thanks anyway...
I assume the DT ones are the standard quality ones people have. It was always ACI I though and DT were ultra expensive...
DT are the expensive ones, doubtless CRC has acquired them by unlacing some wheels they got through some grey market back door 😉
If DT are the expensive ones where can I get cheaper ones that are still ok? I have looked quite a lot with no joy...
<shrugs> is £10 a wheel not cheap enough for you?

Well yes it's ok, but you said they are the expensive ones so I assumed there might be cheaper ones.
I would normally go for DB spokes, any reason not to over straight gauge for my "ridden in the peaks" Pitch Pro? I did hear that DB could be more resiliant as they had more "give" to them, but I have no idea if thats rubbish or not...
DB are a better choice for £5 extra, but I thought you were after "budget". You could always try your LBS for cheaper ones, but you'll probably not do any better than that.
Cool, thanks very much. 🙂
