My wife's bike is currently running custom' DT Swiss 425 rims off a 2009 stumpjumper. I think the rear deore hub is on its way out - the cone is quite scoured, and thecup' somehow looks warped. I'm also surprised none of the spokes have gone yet.

Considering the price of fitting a new hub and say a respoke is it a better bet just to get a complete new wheelset?

If so any suggestions for a reasonably cheap wheelset for someone who is newish to mountain biking and just pootles slowly round anything from Cannock Follow Your Dad or down a Blue in Morzine?

I'd just get a replacement rear wheel from the classifieds, tbh.

These look a bit of a bargain to be honest if you're after something with slightly wider rims...

I've got a brand new wheelset in the classifieds at the moment,
DT Swiss X1700 15mm front and QR rear. Pretty sure the front can be converted to QR if needed.

MY e-mail is in my profile if you're interested!

Cheers,

Alan
