I only shopped the top tube to go in a straight line to the rear hub.. I might get a BTR frame to do that trick next year. Otherwise real happy with it!

I like my Boardman team carbon racer for cycling to work on as it's quick / light / subtle looking.

However, if I could make it better I'd like mudguard mounting eyes, disc brakes, more comfortable shifter hoods (always found the Sram rival ones uncomfortable but I prefer how they shift compared to the Shimano 105 I had on the last bike) and some tyres thatbare less prone to punctures.

Its going to cost me a fortune to get the OP's original image laser burned out of my memory. 🙁

One of the ugliest bikes I have seen in a long time.

Dream commuter bike - that doesn't compute.
It's a bit like having a favourite tea spoon.

Commuter bikes are tools to be sacrificed to the god of road salt - thaw

Whole new thread there! For the record mines a Dan Air one my grandma must have nicked some time in the 60's, I reckon it might have been from a flight to the Isle of Man but if I'm honest I can't really prove its provenance, it could of course be a fake. Actually thinking about it it might have been her friend Mrs Dan who pinched it and left it to my grandma in her will. It's a murky business this antiques game.

I'm sure a certificate for your spoon can be 'obtained'...

Reckon the op's bike could probably use a longer seatpost.

Oddly enough I quite like this:

Not sure how practical it would actually be for my commute...

Happy with mine, Di2, discs, light enough, comfy enough, stealthy. I’m happy with clip on mudguards although I know some would disagree.

NEW RULE
You're not allowed to cyber bully without posting a goddamn bik..cycle yourself, damn trolls. Here's what it actually looks like:

I think you can have your cake and eat it too - commute bikes can be fun  Believe it or not but I've come to think (properly fitted and not clip on) mudguards can look sick. Rear light is integrated in seatpost so it needs to be a bit long. You can still wheelie and manual your heart out.

Think I'm already close with my Plug, although if I'm being honest a few gears would make it the only bike I ever needed.

I'm currently fitting mudguards to that red one I posted up there... or I would be if I could find the bits.

@13thfloormonk I do quite like that pink plug...

My actual commuter looks like this at present:

Not a dream bike, but a functional workhorse...

In the city? Something that nails all useful spec for near-zero maintenance city cycling* and can be ridden in any clothing.

*Upright position, alloy frame, stainless steel fittings, road presence, no quick-release anything, belt drive, roller brakes, full mudguards, dynohub w/usb out, rear rack, integrated locks, hub gears, side-stand, puncture-guard tyres, uninteresting to most bike thieves.

I'm thinking something like a Batavus Dinsdag. I have a similar Batavus and it takes unbelievable levels of abuse and neglect, yet keeps on rolling like a dream.

[img] [/img]

Rural commuting? I use one of these, and it's lovely to take the long loops home.

I bought it because of the colour and because it was cheap, then I had to find something to do with it!

Two much more expensive bikes in the garage barely getting ridden...

yohandsome what is a BTR frame?

FWIW I think your bike looks better pre-photoshop.

I agree that commuter bikes can be enjoyable also. It's the bike you spend by far the most amount of time on, so why not make it fun?
