[Closed] What's your all time fave fast rolling (but grippy) XC tyre?

Anyone found the holy grail of grip, cornering and speed for road to off road riding, woodland trails, slippery tree roots and loose soil?

I'm still looking for mine?

Been running bonty revolts, nice and light, which I'm keen on - as running a tubeless set up, but useless in the sloppy gloop that the rain has made of the local trails.

I like the Revolt Super X too, although I haven't used them for a while. I still like the Nobby Nick (F), Racing Ralph (R) combo.

I run a 2.35 kenda Blue Groove on the front, and a 2.1 kenda Nevaegal on the rear..

For big tyres, the roll really, really well.

Conti Vapour or the wider Gravity for me. The harder rubber resists the local flint better than others. It has good nobbles and clears mud well. On road it rolls fine. On wet roots it prob slips more than a softer compound but my Schwables get slashed very easily.

Recently fitted some Maxxis Aspen 2.25... so far I'm really impressed. Suprisingly grippy and almost effortless on the flat.

I've gone right off the Nobby Nic since the new Ralph came out, if it's too wet for a RR I go straight to a Mud X.

I wouldn't say the RR's perfect, but it's a very good tyre certainly!

RRs or my old favourite Fire XC Pro 1.8s. The XC Pros are better in the mud.

I still keep returning to FireXCPro 2.1's... they seem to suit all my local trails in the Peak District.

I stick Cinders on if up in the lakes.

but if I had to choose one type for all round grippy happy hassle free riding, I'd stick to XCPro2.1

(btw - got a shed full of lightly used tyres from Conti, Maxxis and Kenda.. must stick them on fleebay)

Been running a Racing Ralph tubeless but have had a terminal cut within 3 rides!

Reverted to FireXCPro 2.1 on 'spare' wheelset as it's wet down south!
