I've never actually ever bought new/replacement jockey wheels, so not sure what is the brand/product du jour...

It's for a 10sp 105 rear mech, that the jockey wheels are worn and starting to click and clack...

Suggestions on a postcard posted to the white space below SVP...

What do you say that. The alloy ones I've used have always outlasted the factory items on everything from ultegra to SRAM XX

you want some of those massive ones that racers use, innit - save dozens of milliwatts compared to normal ones

The alloy ones usually run on bearings, shimano plastic run on bushings, on mtb anyway one of the wheels has some lateral float built in I believe, this helps with shifting/chain alignment, with a bearing there is no float.

I've certainly noticed better shifting/quiter chain with shimano.

The guide pulley (top one) or bottom if your bike is upside down! Usually has narrower teeth allowing for chain to float between the plates (shimano the float is between bush and pin).

I actually find the oem shimano pulleys to be the best. Tried the bbb and trax pulleys but they use pretty cheap bearings which ain't sealed particularly well (OK the bbb use nsk bearings which are not all that bad but the 2rs seals are crap). If you are riding in wet UK conditions, you would (in my opinion) be better running bushed jockey wheels and give them a little love now and again (I just run a dab of chain Lube when I can be arsed into bush).

Shimano every time (the decent ones with the ceramic bush / bearing combo)
