i cant remember the last time i rode it but it must be 10 years or more and i see its now run by an events company rather than a grand day out for charity.
anyone ridden it recently, is it still as good as in interesting route, friendly people and a massive cake stop at some random village hall you descend upon at some stage?
I’ve ridden it every year since 2007 and I haven’t noticed any degradation since the event changed hands.
It’s always a good route and the team that organise it for Channel Events are friendly and helpful.
The Tea stop is as good as ever, the same can be said for the weather ;o)
Haven't ridden the Explorer but volunteer and ridden the sister events on the Quantocks and Mendips. Channel Events are a community interest not for profit company based locally rather than pure events company, and a very friendly bunch.
