[Closed] What's the best way to send 2xDH tyres to Spain?

Just sold two Michelin DH16s to a lad in Spain via ebay. Bearing in mind that they were only listed on the UK site, I'm a little peeved that he's now asking me to send them there, but to keep things sweet I am - seems DH tyres are quite hard to come by in sunny Espana.

However, the cheapest I've found to get them shipped there is over £30. The tyres weigh in excess of a kilo each and are not going to fold without a fight, so they're going to be an awkward shape. I've already hit said lad with the price, but he reckons DHL are cheaper as he's had tyres sent out in the past (just checked with them and, on a layman inspection, they don't appear to be).

Anyone any experience of this? Or any ideas?

In this instance I would simply make a second chance offer to the next bidder in line and in the UK.
Alternatively, do what CRC do when shipping tyres. It will be a struggle but wrap them up in a figure of eight and then bind them with duct (Duck? never sure which) tape. Then wrap the whole lot in a black bin liner and slap the label on the front. The postage using international signed for, for a 2kg pack shouldn't be much to spain, certainly not £30.

you could always wrap them, give him the weight and dimensions, and let him sort out collection and delivery?

Cheers guys. Finally got a £20 option on DHL, after a lot of hunting and form filling. Next time I think I'll specify that I don't send outside the UK.

try parcel2go or senditnow. I've sent a frame to Europe before for £13.
