i'm after yet ANOTHER rear mudguard, as all the ones i'v bought before are useless, the worst being the new crud guard as i dont know how that got top marks in the magazine! cant even tighten it properly without it spinning around in itself! want one that stays in place and dont look roadiefied, any suggestions please?

use one of these as I have a scott and it has a ridiculous 34.9 seatpost which normal mudguards dont fit.

the above works well though

The original rear crud guar. Is good but you have to take your post out to fit, a minor inconvenience. It's miles better than the 'improved'' race guard is better in so much as you can remove it without moving your post, but the guard just clips in and mine has worn loose and now just rattles about - really annoying!

The new crudcatcher's a horrible design isn't it. They've improved it, if you've got a really early one it'll be next to useless, the latest ones are just quite bad. Easy to fix if you've got access to a lathe though, or a file and patience- remove the thread off the male side of the bolt then drill out the hole through the middle slightly and stick an M6 bolt through it. Works a charm then.

M6TTF- melt the blade on with a soldering iron, sorted.

I know these are both ridiculous fixes to have to do to something like a mudguard but once done, it's the best mudguard there is IMO. TBH if they just made the old mounting but with the blade replaced with a new-style one it'd be perfect.
