Only been once before and that time I rode Jacobs ladder.
The Mrs wants to go for a weekend at the end of Feb which means I will get about 3 hours for a ride.
Prefer lots of climbing rather than lots of distance and like techy descents.
Not too bad with a map - but what areas should I consider?
Can't grab a map at the moment, but from memory!
Climb out of Hope up the track to Hollins Cross, I prefer the one which starts as a road climb before double backing on itself after a couple of gates. From Hollins ride up to Mam Tor.
Down the other side of Mam Tor to the road, cross straight over and follow that trail north-west I believe till you hit the road after a pretty awesome descent.
There's a few tracks which then lead you north and then east towards Jacob's Ladder. You can get this in and return to where you parked.
I can dig out a gps log when I get home if it helps.
I believe till you hit the road after a pretty awesome descent.
That'll be the one DCC have "repaired" then and is no longer awesome
Ok here goes my effort -
Park @ Hope train staion
Left on the main road
Right at the lights the first Left over the bridge
Climb up Borough Road up towards Bradwell Edge
Descend Right off there down into Bradwell
Meander round the back of the Cement works
Climb Pindale and then round onto Dirtlow Rake
Descend Cavedale and then climb back up the broken road to Mam Tor
Round Mam Tor and along the slabs to Hollins Cross
Descend Greenlands and follow to the road towards Edale
Go Right and then take the bridal way ont he Left that leads to Jaggers Clough and onto Hope Cross
Descend The Beast
Right along the reservoir and round the lanes of Aston taking a right that will lead you onto Hope Brink
Climb this towards Hope Cross and retrace your steps back up to Hollins Cross
Take the Bridal way that leads you back into Castleton
To keep off the roads take the lanes and then the tracks round the back of the cement works back towards Bradwell
left in Bradwell and back to the car.
Sorted. ๐
If you want it in a GPX post up your email and I'll send it over
Thanks people - GPX would be really helpful

If you've done Jacob's, I would probably go over to Ladybower.
If you like techy descents, then the Beast should suffice ๐
(from Hope Cross straight down to the A57)
Then past Haggs Farm to halfway up Ladybower, then back across Derwent Edge.
Struggling to find a good map of it - hang on...
Email sent
Can't find map - but it's ace. Most maps do Potato Alley instead, but I prefer The Beast.
