I used to swear by the stuff when it seemed to be as rare as rocking horse poo , but the last couple of bottles I've had seem to be different .I could lube up my chain and forget about it for a couple of weeks but now it seems to be every couple of rides and even worse if its wet .Anyone else thinking the same ( and if you are , what have you swapped to ?)

Swopped to Peatys, which is rebranded Wickens and Soderstrom, even better than RnR for my trail conditions.

I've got about 200ml of the old stuff left, new stuff is eco and apparently not as good, pity as it was the best I've tried.

Been pleasantly surprised by muc off dry oil on the commuter, I'll switch to that on the MTB when the good stuff runs out.

RIP RnR.

It is different, the newer stuff is now Low Vapour, not really noticed a drop in performance myself, usually lube every few rides anyway

I swear by the old Rock n Roll on all the bikes, Gold & Extreme, best lube I've ever found - seem to get longer chain life than anything else tried. I believe they had shipping issues due to the old formulation being highly flammable, a big issue for air freight nowadays, so had to change it - would've thought the lube portion would've been similar once the solvent it's dispersed in evaporated away...shame if it's not, still on the old stuff but might have to try something else if it's not as good.

Long Live Rock n Roll.

New gap in the market for 'Bangin Techno' Lube?

Good to know that its changed then and I'm not imagining it - downside is trying to find something as good ( might try Peatys )

I got some this year and it's been great? Don't remember having to shake it as often but it's certainly keeping my chain clean.

I got on well with absolute dry last summer so got some extreme back in January.

I've been hunting down a creaky noise (BB, chainring bolts, cranks kinda thing) and wondering if it's the chain itself and that lube isn't actually lubing...

By the way, having tried them all 'Gold' is the superior one.

"Gold (Gold), always believe in your soul, you've got the power to know, you're indestructible..."

Best applied in the shed, singing this, while donning a suitable Gold Lame stage outfit.

....It may be sufficient, but only in a tie-dye top matched with baggy jeans appearing 3 sizes too large that must drape in folds over and under the heel of your converse. Hair must be swept forwards on lube application to ensure adequate link penetration.
