Yes, perfect I'd say. I have a single serving one, works well.

I used that fryer this morning for the first time. As a putoline virgin I found the process really easy. Will see how the chains last!

Is this the first all in agreement recommendation thread on STW ever?

Someone’s going to disagree soon

I think that is the exact one I use. Perfect size, basket makes it simple to deal with the chain.  Once done I shut the lid with the basket in place and leave it to set until next time

I also use that one and find it perfectly adequate for the task.

Sounds like they need to rebrand that item.

If it makes your chain last ages, do you get everlasting chips?

From the 'share' menu you wanted the 'hotlink for forums' link and then hit the 'IMG' button on here and paste the link in.

I'll help out by disagreeing about the fryer.
It's white so gets grubby too quickly. A black one would be better.

And what temperature do you set it to?

I'm going to disagree about the fryer as well I'm afraid. I know its probably easier but I'll stick with the camp stove. I AM MAN!

Until I knock it over, then i'll quietly buy a new tin, clean up the mess, even more quietly buy a fryer and say no more about it.

Quick resurrection as about to buy this fryer or similar to do our whole household of chains but how much wax do I need?

It says it will take up to a 1.5l of oil in the fryer but presumably just enough to cover the chain (one normal tin)?

Put the whole tin in. The volume limits on fryers are given to accommodate the foaming when you dunk your chips in. Chains in wax don't foam so you'll be fine.

I also use a stove, not one of those little ungainly ones but the wide flat ones that you get for car camping. This is mainly due to the fact I already have one. If I didn’t I’d get that fryer.

The real magic of a dff is the basket, allowing you to lift it out to drain over the was without handling or hooking the chain
