Kirroughtree and Dalbattie this weekend
Re hanging the bathroom raiator tomorrow (took it off to redecorate at Easter).
Will be riding the usual in the Peak with skinless nuckles.
Last week I rode 500 miles in beautiful Oregon countryside. Wednesday, I rode out from Portland towing a bob trailer with camping and hiking gear to climb Mt St Helens. It's the first time I've been out in the hills without a bike in years. Hillwalking rocks!
I will be riding Windy Willow tomorrow morning, and worth the mither and a few others. But I am not showing anyone I don't know, where they are! This on the grounds they are not strictly legal trails.
I know Mr Woppits view on this sort of trail so would not be wanting to expand the number of people who use them!
I will mainly be riding with freeridenick, Dango, stopadoodledoo and a female rider on another forum and film them whilst they all show me how to ride like a freeride god.
I will then edit the film and share it with you next week so that we can all bow down and realise how unworthy we are.
Going to give my forks a post TFtuned service shake down tomorrow, Rooley Moor road ought to do it or possibly the descent from Gorple Stones on the Mary Townley. Sunday is up for negotiation, may be on kid watching duty (mine not other peoples ๐ ).
shortcut - I've had a look at the Nirvana video of Windy Willow and I can't see any new trail build - it all looks like linking existing tracks to me. How is it "not strictly legal"?
Meeting up with a bunch of retrobikers for a schlep round Hope tomorrow, not sure on Sunday.
Taking the wife and kids to Skeg-Vagas and working too much. No riding for me this weekend. ๐
Anthony
All day at a public exhibition on a road scheme tomorrow. ๐
Newnham 60 on Sunday. ๐
Wandering round London tomorrow trying to find Abercrombie & Finch, then the Princes Trust Palace to Palace on Sunday, a 45mile trot from Buckingham Palace to Windsor Castle.
Then figure out how to get back again ๐
Newnham 60 for me & av a lanche on Sunday too - looking forward to a ride on DRY trails ๐
Caldy Island (Tenby) and Brechfa as usual.
After a few weeks off due to a house sale, went out this afternoon around Holmbury and Leith. Can't believe how dry and fast it all is....it was fantastic. Windy Willow is almost* dry ๐ฏ
Probably go back out on Sunday.
* aside the one little muddy bit in the gully near the start that I don't think I've ever seen dry
well, it certainly is not bridleway and some of it may be classified as footpath or indeed no trail at all. so not strictly a public right of way!
3 peaks cyclocross race for me.
Doing the 4 or so hour drive up tomorrow and staying in a Travelodge.
Rivi tomorrow,
Riding with young Nephew Sunday.
Still got a ripped calf muscle so booked a hangover for tomorrow early doors, watching rugby match tomorrow afternoon. Got a formal dinner sat evening so will get kilted up and then bladdered. Sun have bigger hangover booked but will try a very gentle local woods ride to blow away the cobwebs. The end.
Time-trial up and down the A303 tomorrow, then a CX race in Sir-windun on Sunday.
holmbury and pitch tomorrow showing a beginner the ropes, leith/ranmore on Sunday
Newnham 60 for me ๐
I'll be mostly flanking the Ridgeway but on road on the skinny tyred machine trying to see if I can ride it faster on road than I did the Ridgeway offroad on the fat tyred springy machine. And stuff like that.
And then on sunday I shall be mostly watching the "CX race in Sir-windun" and supporting the GWR team. And maybe Thurman Merman even though I have no idea what or who Thurman Merman is. But that just adds to fun of it all.
Newnham 60 for me too.........
Sunday: STW Purbecks Ride on my new build HT
Thurman Merman - I have seen TT's on the 303 before and it looks absolutely terrifying ๐ฏ
Do you have earplugs in so you can't hear the traffic or what? How far do you actually ride along there then?
babysitting tomorrow day then on nights prob sleepin sunday as on nights again and babysittin again monday deep joy ๐
Thurman Merman - I have seen TT's on the 303 before and it looks absolutely terrifying
Yes. Yes it is.
Do you have earplugs in so you can't hear the traffic or what? How far do you actually ride along there then?
The stupid pointy helmets dull a lot of the noise but it is still deafening. This afternoon's is only a 10miler, though I did a 25 on this stretch earlier in the year too. This one's near Yeovil - I think you're nearer the Andover end of things which is generally even busier. I've also done one there too :-). Did a 50mile one last Sunday up on the A417/A419 (Cirencester/Cricklade) which was both very busy (even at 0800) AND very noisy (concrete surface rather than tarmac). Nasty.
And maybe Thurman Merman even though I have no idea what or who Thurman Merman is.
He'll be the guy in the pink/black strip aboard a Columbus X-Wing. Be sure to laugh and point. I reckon it'll be a huge turnout tomorrow. We had well over 60 S/V/W/J'sin Rnd 1 of the Western League last weekend, and tomorrow is a combined Western/Wessex meet. The Lydiard Park races are usually very well populated.
