Got a road bike to sell following an impulse purchase. Its in very good condition, done about 1000 (mostly fair weather) miles. One of the budget brands but with reasonable kit.
What sort of % of new price should I be asking after 18 months?
I was always told that the guide was cheapest available retail price halved then add 10% or 15%, it then drops 10% for every year older. This will obviously vary a touch depending on how desirable the bike is/isn't. So if your bike cost £1k new I'd say aim at £550 - £600. Depressing isn't it?!
I'll humour you as I'm considering buying a cheap road bike - make/model/size?
Road holds it price better than mtb imo. Still needs to be about 50-60% of the cheapest you could currently find that model & year for online. Also size makes a difference.
Was being careful/vague to avoid this becoming a classified ad, genuinely asking the question! But as Wilko asked - PX Pro-Carbon, Ultegra 10-speed, size M.
I'll stick it in the classifieds shortly 😀
Dang, too small, shame as that's one of the bikes I've been considering.
