[Closed] What Tyres ... for road bike turbo trainer

I bought a nice looking bright orange conti turbo trainer tyre a while ago. When I tried to fit it to my then road bike it was unbelievably tight, and on the two occasions that I did bit the bleedin' thing I pinched the tube and punctured ๐Ÿ˜ณ

I've since replaced my roadbike, and in the hope (rather than expectation) that the new wheels would be an easier fit for the turbo trainer tyre I've tried again ... to find that it still won't go on!

So - what Turbo tyre would the STW massive recommend that won't involve hours of sweating, grunting and groaning only to end up in dissatisfaction and disappointment!?

Any old tyre, you really don't need a special turbo trainer one.

Any old tyre is fine, but standard road tyres don't last long on my turbo before they pop, and they seem a bit noisier than a specific turbo tyre (or is that my imagination?).

I've got a blue turbo tyre (think it is a tacx?) that is lasting well and seemed to go on ok as far as I can remember.

Go to LBS and blag one of their old tyres "out the back".
Have spent thousands in LBS so qaulify for this instantly.

I've used a standard Conti road tyre and the main problem is the strip of black on the cheap rug under the turbo. Excess noise isn't an issue and so far it's not delaminated (40 hours use) Got a turbo specific tyre but not used it yet as back on the road ๐Ÿ™‚
