Hi, am looking at getting some different tyres for my commuter (26" wheeled mtb with drop bars). I will be using it mainly on canal tow paths and disused railway line cycle paths and am wanting some faster tyres (have some knobblies for proper off road riding). Am looking at some Schwalbe Marathon Plus - any experiences? or other recommendations
cheers

Very good but often dear.
I also used Conti Town and Country 1.9 for years in London with great results.
Currently I'm on Geax Street Runner 1.25 slicks (they're made by Vittoria - good road tyre manufacturer) and they feel grippy but fast. No punctures to report as yet, 100PSI, getting better with use. Should cost you around £12.99 each in wire, not sure if foldies exist.

The marathon plus is quite a heavy tyre, unless you are plagued by punctures I would stick to the standard marathon, it still offers decent levels of puncture resistance, and is a hardwearing touring/cycle/canal path type tyre.

Is it muddy/grass towpath or a proper path? my commute is a mixture of the tow and I oftendo proper MTB routes on way home.
I use these

cheers for above suggestions, I'm wondering if some semi slicks would be a better option
