[Closed] What to pair up with my 2.35 High roller front tyre

I have a pair of High rollers 2.35 (although they do come up smaller than that) in maxxpro 60a compound. I find they grip well but seem draggy on fire road climbs etc. I dont want to sacrifice the grip that the front gives me, so I will swap out the rear tyre for something with a bit more zip, any suggestions.
As a suitable rear tyre I was thinking of
Was thinking of Maxxis crossmark 2.1 (do they size up small or large as maxxis seem to have there measuring all wrong)
Panaracer Fire XC pro 2.1
Conti Speedking

Any better suggestions for a good pairing with the front highroller, but with a bit more go ?

Cheers

I run a high roller up front with a larsen TT on the rear seems just about perfect in most condiions, was spot on for Afan the other (very wet) weekend.

I was running 60a SPC kevlar HR 2.35's front and rear, felt good, but like you found it a bit draggy on road sections and smooth climbs, grip like turd to fleace though!

Swaped the rear for a 2.4 hollyroller, bigger and heavier (only comes in DPC, 2.4 and steel) but rolled so quickly and the volume is huge, i was convinced i was riding a short travel full suss! Both front and rear pumped to 27.5psi.

Just bought a 2.35 HR semi slick, SPC, steel, haven't tried it yet, but hoping it'll be like the hollyroller, but signifcantly (150-200g) lighter!

I've got a used 2.1 crossmark you can have for £12.50 posted. It's in good nick and is a way of trying your idea out cheaply.

BTW they do size up correctly ie a 2.1 is 2.1

e mail in profile if interested

HR 2.1's are nothing like HR 2.35's, except for their undersizeness, even my tioga 1.95 XC's were wider and grippier!

harder compound, shallower tread, thin sidewalls.
