As above really. My Shimano 181s are getting a bit long in the tooth. Are Sidi worth the extra money? Anyon else worth looking at?

Stif sole if good for racing and climbing - not good for stepping stones over water or clambering up muddy cr@p ๐Ÿ™‚

How about some 5-10 Minnaars ๐Ÿ™‚

I've always trail ridden in a racer style shoe. I find my feet really ache if I use anything too soft. Best shoes I ever had were the Nike Nguba until the sole split. I think they all did that in the end though.

I have women specific Mavic's which are awesome! They have a super stiff sole guess they will do a man's equivalent. These are the ones I have:

Stiff soles are a thing of preference again, racers like them but some other people might not. Mr MC is learning to ride flats again after 18 years of SPD's he bought some flat 5 10's and hated the fact that they were so stiff and he couldn't "feel" the pedal. I like my stiff soles you just don't want to have to walk far in them.
