Just read this
🙂

Bloody hell Hora, that's lovely.

Needs a black saddle, pink tape and a stainless/alloy bottle cage, obviously, but that is a beautiful bike.
😀

Keeping everything 'as is' now- need to concentrate on rides/then re-think bits. 🙂

I've also entered it into https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/124127/Ronde-Van-Chinley

If anyone else wants to join?

Well for once Hora that's a bloody good idea. Leave it alone and go ride it. Once you've put some miles on it and listened to your body and the bike you'll know only too well what needs changing.

Can't join you for the RvC I'll be doing P-R myself.. 8)

Well, ignoring how you've dressed it for a minute, how does it ride? Seems like you've answered the original question and got a proper frame.

For what its worth: White bar tape for bling but keep the black on until you've finished fettling/tweaking it.

Nice one.

I've only had shortish rides so far- leg over though and it feels stable and still nippy. Some bloke in all the gear on a fixie rode round me at the lights and stopped right infront of me. Cheek I thought! I had him 😀

From a newbie point of view- the bars don't seem to jar/want to jump out of my hands like they did on the PlanetX- thoughts?

First proper ride around Kirklees/Huddersfield this weekend.

thoughts?

The inherent lushness of steel and perhaps because it feels more planted as its a bit heavier? Those PX forks are a bit boingy from experience.

Bit worrying when you read that.

I don't know if this was also in part a confidence thing but jesus the Ritchey Logic is stable going down steep/fast hills.

On the same road(s) the PlanetX bucked around/felt nervous compared. Maybe partly a wee bit extra weight but then the rider is heavy so shouldn't matter?

It was soo reassuring that I thought 'shit these brakes really are crap'! 😀

Fantastically smooth, stable. Still looking for a decent (black) saddle. though.

...these brakes really are crap'!

what pads you using?

standard pads are seemingly designed to last approx 1000years, thinking 'i'll replace them when they're worn' will only mean you'll forever have crap brakes that wear through your rims at a frightening rate.

because the man in the shop told you to buy an XL, you bought a L and it was too small so you were hanging over the front of it, so you were nervous riding it

The brakes should be fine, on a road bike you are going a lot faster than you realise so the braking distances are longer compared to a mountainbike
if you really want to change the blocks then swisstop Blue (replacement for Green)

5mm difference in the effective on both frames in the the sizes I had- I'm using a shorter stem on the Ritchey- even with other factors its not 'massive' enough that a XL Pro carbon would have felt better.

The front of the Ritchey isn't as chattery over bumps etc. The frame has more give I guess too but down anything its very stable. Probably alot of factors like carbon stiffer but on a larger Pro Carbon I'd still be bounced around.

I AM using SwissTop 😀 It aint like a mtb to slow down aint it 😆

It's not my pitcher, I found it whilst scurrying around. I just wanted to wind Hora up 🙂

<edit> Yes Hora it is. Apart from the wheels, and the saddle, and the groupset, and it looks nicely put together, and... Oh never mind 🙂

blimey, just found this thread (only read the last 2 pages, mind)

Hora, you have managed to make a nice frame look pretty scabby - quite a talent

(won't change the ride, though, and I suppose it might stop anyone nicking it 😀 )

Scaredypants buttocks! It looks awesome. Soon as you stick a pastey man in lycra on it all looks shit.

Cynicalal start a topic 'how much is it worth' in bikeforum 😀

The contemporary industrial wasteland background doesn't help. That one up there ^ taken in a leafy back garden looks so much nicer. I know the builds are, errrm, cough, slightly different but it all helps. I won't mention lipstick and pigs... ooops. 😀

Got to put a full Ritchey WCS carbon finishing kit on that frame, surely? Right down to the pedals. Now if they made a SS version...

Hadn't realised that there was such interest in the Ritchey Logic.

Built this up about two weeks ago, very similar to Hora's build.

Classic white bar tape for me though.

Rides very well, as it should, the guys at Skyline Cycles weighed it for me, came in bang on 19lbs.

I almost bought a Logic, I had an older one and did like it, it had an old school steel ride (which can also be had for £80 off ebay).

Update - if anyones interested. I LOVE the ride. I'm also starting to lean the bike rather than part-use the bars to go round corners/bends. Something I've not done on a road bike before.

I'd definitely recommend the Ritchey and if anyones considering one and your a forum regular I'd let you have a spin to see on sizing and ill-cable routing 8)

I've just bought a new saddle but still need a seatpost (the sign was old/mouldy in the middle of a field before any mention..):
