Either 9 or 10 speed shifters and BB7 Road for correct pull ratio.

Tektro do a drop bar lever for v brakes that would work with the bb7's

thanks, still a bit confused by what will shift the gears if you buy the Tektro or Cane Creek levers

You could fit bar-end shifters if you don't want them integrated. Otherwise, just fit the Tiagra STIs and make sure you use the Road version of the BB7.

There are also these (retroshift), I made my own for my campus commuter out of an old thumbshifter

The simplest set up would be Tiagra Dropbar STI levers with Road BB7's.
Thats all your braking and gearshifting in 1 lever.

You could also run a set of dropbar levers purely for braking which kind of lever you get depends on whether you get Road BB7's or MTB BB7's as they require a different amount of pull.

Gear shifting can then be done by Bar end shifters, downtube shifters, retro shift conversion as shown in the previous post or even thumbies if so inclined.

Might be no help at all, but here's mine along similar lines - Mtn BB7s, Tektro RL520 levers, dura ace 9 speed bar end shifter, 11-34 cassette, Paul's chain keeper (behind the crank arm).
