I want to change from the air shock currently fitted. What's the best coil shock to go for (knowing nothing about coil shocks)?

Don't know if it's the best, but I've got a Fox dhx 5 coil on my 05 six pack, very pleased with it, does take longer to get it dialed in though compared with the simpler Romic on my 5 spot. CCDB is supposed to be 'the' coil shock to have, if you can afford one.

I would think a Pushed Van R.Speak to TFtuned, they know there stuff,or maybe LOCO tuning, seems like a good bloke

Have Cane creek Double barrels on both my bikes,They are brilliant but very expensive.TFtuned do these know aswell

Ccdb is great but unnecessary for most folk unless you really know your tuning onions and have some form of O
CD. I'd still love one!

A van rc would be my choice over van r, definitely. I got a wicked deal on a dhx rc4 from hong kong back in jan off eBay, nearly half price brand new. Best rear shock ive owned, no question and was half the price of a ccdb

dunno the answer but if i could buy any i'd buy the ccdb but that's an anal retentive engineering thing. what's wrong with the air shock?
try mtbr.com turner forum for bike setups etc there's a wealth of homer experience on there.

the one i had last was

Pushed Fox DHX coil and TI spring 650

recommended really good but van r or an older van rc pushed could be as good

Pushed Fox DHX coil and Ti spring here too - on a Horst-Link 5-Spot.

Agree with vondally about puched Van RC - def a cheap option!
