Pretty much as the title says I'm on a hard tail with 100mm forks.
Thanks Ben
700, maybe 701.
Is this a serious question? If so it's worse than the 'what tyres' threads.
Anyway, assuming it's not. Depends. Depends on how heavy you are, the geometry of the frame, the tyres you're using, the rubber compound in said tyres, whether you're using a 26 or a 29er or something else (shudder) the moisture content of the ground and atmospheric pressure. And that's just off the top of my head.
Start at 35psi and if that's too soft and the bike feels 'squirmy' put some more in, if you're finding the bike loosing traction on climbs and corners etc, take some out.
Not 699.
It was a serious question
Go somewhere quiet and have a word with yourself. Please.
Nah I tried 699, kept getting pinch punctures. Maybe if you went tubeless.
try starting at 1 and ride it for a couple of miles if thats too soft put another 1 in and ride for another couple of miles, repeat until darwin takes over
You guys are very very funny. It was a question that I was expecting a proper answer too I received one thanks guys.
That's silly. You'd have to keep pumping all the way round. Start at 2000 then let 1 out every mile. That way you can leave your pump in the car.try starting at 1 and ride it for a couple of miles if thats too soft put another 1 in and ride for another couple of miles, repeat until darwin takes over

That's silly, because if you puncture, you won't be able to blow it up again.
I've used 32.77935471 in the front and 34.98365 in the rear before, HTH.
2.5 baaaaaaa
Some, if that's not enough then some more, if it's too much then a bit less...
Seriously, come on now.
"It was a question that I was expecting a proper answer too "
Probably because you asked specifically about Llandegla
If you'd asked what psi for mountain bike trails or something you might have got more useful replies
Also if you'd said what you currently use
If it's Giant or Specialized, then your bike isn't compatible with the PSI standard.
Measure the radius of your wheel, then times it by the circumfrence and finaly divide it by two and you should be somewhere near...
issit a right or left handed pump ?
Which section?
It was a serious question.
No, it wasn't.
If you were serious when you asked it, you are very silly.
Because this is a very silly question.
Hardtail 35
Bouncy 40
Start at 5psi and gradually increase until your rims stop scraping on the ground ๐

Bit more than if you we're riding round a shop but not as much as a bmx
Perhaps there's a niche for an app that appeals to the psi-conscious. I'd call it iPsi and it would predict tyre pressure based on gnar rating, suspension travel, rider weight, location and environmental conditions.
It should feel more like an orange than an apple
Try and be more helpful chaps. No good suggesting tyre pressure and not even stating whether that pressure is on a cold tyre or one that has ben running a while.
The perfect pressure is midway between too soft and too hard on the scientific squeeze test using perfectly calibrated fingers.
I pump em up until I can squidge them just enough with my finger and thumb
I recommend 50 bar minimum.Your should be fine... ๐
Obviously! So I run between 30 and 35 bar on my Anthem when at Llandegla. Everywhere else, it'd be more like 35 down to 30.If it's Giant or Specialized, then your bike isn't compatible with the PSI standard.

Ah'm oot.
Op, what you gonna go for?
How would one pronounce iPsi?
Stop taking the psi out of him.
How would one pronounce iPsi?
Steady on, I've only just thought of the idea let alone how to pronounce it!
35 psi then +/- 5 psi depending how things feel, rider weight, tyres etc.
Just don't go too low on the stony bits to avoid pinch flats ๐
42...obviously
My serious answer....
The same psi as your last off road ride
Or 30 psi
But for future reference its not really a question that anyone else can answer without alot of imfo'
Does Ben want the psi of the air in his forks as well?
Eye siy
The correct answer is sell your hardtail and buy an Orange 5.
You should never attempt a trail as difficult as that with a lesser bike.
Twelvty
The same as what you had last week.
What do you think the answer should be, OP?
Whatever you normally have in your tyres, Llandegla is nothing unusual. ๐
I presumed I would get a rough answer obviously there's lots of variations. In motox which I raced for many yrs tyre pressures were very important and a few psi hear or there could make a big difference!
I was wanting a few ideas as to what people run.
But nevermind there's to many trolls without anything else better to do (get bk on Facebook) thanks for the few decent answers I received.
There have been a few serious answers given.
Seems you just ignored them...
Ah! Now given that bit of context your question doesn't seem so daft. Seriously though, in mountain biking there are that many variables that mostly it comes down to your own preferences. As a rule though, 30 - 35 psi is about what most people use. Harder pressures mean the tyre doesn't deform to the ground so much and so rolls faster but this is at the cost of grip.
FWIW I'm a great big heft rugby player type and I run 40 psi in the 2.1 tyres on my XC bike and about 32 in the 2.5s on my DH bike.
Ok, the serious answer is, it depends so much on the tyres, the bike, your style of riding and personal preference that its impossible for other people to tell you. And the idea of there being one recommended pressure for a particular trail centre is a bit daft.
Also, you picked Llandegla which for some reason attracts lots of controversy on here, so I think lots of people assumed you were trolling, and wrote silly replies.
Depends how fat you are, tyre choice, wheel size and prevailing conditions. I am sure someone could write an algorithm but you wouldn't understand it!
I didn't ignore the serious ones thanks for those ๐
Wish I never asked though. Haha
If you've riden MX you'll also know how much of a personel thing tyre pressure is. ๐
Llandegla is my local, I run 21-23 front, 31-33 rear,2.2 Rubber Queens tubeless. It's generally grippy, but I find too much air in the front, and on some corners it looses grip. If you are tubed, try 28f 30+rear. Have fun ๐
Am heading out with 5psi this morning, found six last week too high
Also worth mentioning, most people around Llandegla I see are riding 17-18" bikes, probably the best size for the area.
HTH
80psi last time I was there but that was on my cross bike.
