Need to get a new MTB helmet not full face thou. Any ideas ?
Urge Endur-O-Matic, pretty slick looking, good protection and it still keeps you pretty cool.
Fox Flux...RRP is £70 but there is a massive margin on Fox kit so you should be able to haggle a little.
Been looking at the Flux looks like my best option. I have a cube acid and would love a cube helmet but can find anyone who stocks them in the uk.
I fancied a Flux but they don't fit my head at all - worth trying one on first, but that goes for any helmet really.
I really liked my Bell Variant until I broke it - felt quite similar to my old Giro Xen, but you can get hold of one for just £35. Bargain!
I love my Urge Endur-o-matic.
Got a Giro xen too which is also mint.
Giro Xen's can be had for about £60 at On-One and a few other places, really nice trail lid. You didn't specify what your after though, full on lightweight xc or a decent all rounder with a bit more coverage?
xc really butwith more coverage
Whatever fits your head and is comfy.
Fit is EVERYTHING!
Almost pointless recommending a helmet to you as what fits me may not fit you...
One that fits. But given the choice, Flux is still superb despite being a bit massive. Haven't see a Striker in the shops yet but I'm hoping for the same only better.
just replaced my aged giro hex
tried xen- bulkier than my old hex, definate mushroom head but fit was good
flux, looks great but not right for my large bonce
in the end got a new Hex from cyclesurgery, latest rocck lock is better than the old and even more comfy
also cyclesurgery have em for 55quid at the moment, plus i used my 10 quid online discount code- see thread a few days ago
If Giro fits your head then MET will fit nicely as well. I had a Giro Animas before, now have a Met Inferno and the fit is similar. Also Met Veleno fitted nicely on a Giro Hex owner head.
I prefer the Met harness as it's more comfortable and easier to adjust then Giro Roc Loc plus stays in place. However ventilation on my old E2 or the Animas was much better then on my Inferno.
You can get the Met Veleno on eBay and will have 30 quid spare. Very well made, bought one recently as a gift. Good ventilation according to the new owner, not too heavy.
On-One had Giro Athlons on sale recently, again 60 quid all in. Limited sizes and clours but if it as good as its predecessor the E2 than it has to be a really nice helmet.
Giro helmets look ridiculous on me, whereas I look [s]great[/s], er, less ridiculous in a MET - both feel comfy enough.
