i am planning on buying a top of the range sid 110mm xc fork for my chisel fs (not the battery one) and there seems to be 2 models of the same fork on their website.

SID SL ULTIMATE 3P | FS-SIDS-ULT3-E1 | RockShox

SID SL Ultimate 3P | FS-SIDS-ULT3-D1 | RockShox

these seem to be the top end ones in their range (i want a light xc fork) before their flight attendant models.

they both look the same to me but just wondering which one you would go for if you were buying (xc lightweight). my current fork is 2.5 kg so you can see why i want to upgrade (also i think the chisel fs is worth it for me). i don't know what the differences are between the 2 tbh?

thanks 🙂

ps meant 110mm fork

There may be more to it, but from the pics the disc brake mounts look different

I may be wrong, but I think the E1 is the generation where they sorted out the bushing issues. I'd definitely be going for that one.

I've been put off a SID (for a 120mm bike) by people telling me they can be quite harsh and racey. I'm going to go for a Pike or 34SL and take the slight weight hit in favour of the more suited damping (for me). Just something to consider.

The RockShox SID "D1" and "E1" refer to different generations of the RockShox SID SL cross-country fork, with the E1 version being a more recent update (released in mid-2025) featuring a new chassis, improved air spring, and updated damper options.
The "D1" generation was the first iteration of the specific 2024+ model code scheme, while "E1" is the next generation with updates.

D1 features the updated bushings as well. But yeah, E1 is the latest update… pick the colour you like, price depending.

thanks for the replies everyone. i am going for one of these hopefully in the end (in blue) as it's 120mm travel (forgot my chisel is 120mm at the front doh ).  SID Ultimate 3P | FS-SID-ULT3-D1 | RockShox

Glad you spotted that... else you might have ended up with a reverse chopper. 😂

Can't remember if your bike is a Shimano or SRAM build? Anyway, just make sure your front rotor is 180mm (160 won't fit).
