What are the hive using....Why will a normal one not fit?( I am running rigid forks)

Because it's the new XX44mm standard which allows all sorts of combinations. If you order from Cy he sells with either a Nuke Proof or Hope (which I'd go for) and you just need to specify that you need a 1.125" none tapered top and bottom cup. You want the Hope H2 for 1 1/8" as it says on the website.

Go for the hope as you can swap between 1&1/8" and tapered by adding/subtracting the £10 bottom race.
Give you flexibility for the future....
