Have I missed something?

There don't seem to be many UK dealers selling 661 pads or gloves anymore and the range they do have seems severely limited.

Covid, maybe ...
Supply of anything is a little rubbish due to factory close downs in China etc ...

Hotlines (CRC) are the UK distributor so I guess this is the complete range they bring in..

It just seems a little weak. A few years ago they were dominant in the market, and now they just make a small handful of products?

Looking at their website they're going direct to consumer, but it's on pause at the moment.

Or maybe it's because they ran an advert with an attractive female model a few years ago, STW got very upset about it and 'cancelled' them, I don't know.

I did see that when i did some google investigation. Seems a bit of and extreme reaction though.

I've googled myself, I can't believe it was 5 years ago!

I guess 'we' had more time pre-Covid / Pre-Brexit to compete to be the most offended about the small stuff back then 😉

I guess i'll have to stop living in the past at move to a different brand for knee pads then!
Not that great when most reviews suggest "try on for size before buying". Most shops don't want you putting your potentially Covid infested knees anywhere near their stock!

I reckon there was also an issue with the market being flooded with 661 stock that didn't sell at anything like RRP, got heavily discounted and eventually all got sold through. When it happens to the extent it happened with 661, people come to expect the heavily discounted price to be normal - and then baulk at the idea of paying RRP.

My bliss pads are almost identical to my old Kyle Strait pads if it helps.

I don’t think STW was the only place that got upset and I think 661 eventuality pulled the ad and apologised

Thanks, what's the model name of your pads?

I expect they realised that they sold way too many different products that basically did the same thing (such as knee pads that weren’t as good as Kyle Straits any way) and decided to streamline their product range into just decent stuff.

Couple that with the unprecedented bike industry supply madness of 2020 and it seems like there stuff has vanished.

To be honest if they rereleased the Kyle Strait pads (exactly the same but without his name on them, they did release the Patriot knee which was the same) I would probably buy at least two pairs of them.
