I tend to use whatever is at the sink I'm using, which can be anything from liquid soap to shampoo to Fairy Liquid. However whatever I washed it in a couple of weeks ago (I can't remember) has started giving me a nasty rash across the forehead.

Any ideas of how to get it properly clean again, and what should I be using to clean it?

I just chuck mine in the washing machine every few rides. To be honest they dont last much longer than 6 months.
