I'm looking for some cross tyres for summer riding but given it's probably going to rain for most of it I wondered what all round tyres people have had success with?

Cheers

I wouldn't waste your cash on anything too dandy for this time of year as you'll get away with almost anything.
Speed Kings are cheap as chips and very general purpose.
I've just bought Challenge Griffos for the winter.

Using some Schwalbe CX Comp, seem alright to me tarmac and fire roads. 10er each if you shop around. Planet X have some Sammy Slicks that get good reviews for same price.

Kenda Small Block 8's here. Wicked in the dry, but surprisingly good when muddy.

cant say i use all rounders, but got some kenda small block 8 for summer as they were £10 on crc
In the winter i used michelin mud 2's or if there was a dry spell i'd chuck a michelin jet or sb8 on the back

Speed Kings here, but rubbish.

Don't roll well on hard stuff despite having bugger all grip when you need it.

How Continental made the knobs big enough to slow you down, but not big enough to actually grip when they need to is quite a feat!

Speed Kings? Ha, W*nkings more like!

(PS - I don't like 'em in case you were wondering)

speedkings here used for ruffstuffing and commuting, seem to wear quick, not tried any others so can't compare

Staggering off camber grip though. I managed to keep riding on some of the zig-zag climbs whilst other racers were going sideways. However I'm now convinced those extended knobs slow you down on flat claggy sections.
And TBF they are a wetter condition tyre, and the least recommended for hardpact of all the current Conti tyres.

those side knobs are a bit scary leaning over into turns on tarmac on the commute

Exactly! Not enough grip in the centre, then BAM - aggressive grip in the corners which makes the bike go all wobbly when you need stability the most. OK, so they aren't meant to be a road tyre, but CX tyres should be decent all rounders, and Conti do market these as such.

First set were Conti Speedkings (read Puncture kings)
Then had some Vittoria CX tyres OK but wore very quick and grip was so so
Now using
Maxxis Raze

Maxxis Mud Wrestlers here. Coped well with a very muddy cross season (and a race that was frozen solid) as well as the dry, dusty conditions at HONC. Really nice tyres.

Just to upset.
I use CST's. Cheng Shing chinese things from Raleigh. 38mm all year round. Bought them as a near identical but bigger version of the Specialized Houfilaise (spelling?) that came with my Singlecross. Excellent and by god they last. 12 quid.

Anyone tried Schwalbe CX Pros? was thinking of getting some 1.35" for my 26" rigid training bike for some fast rolling "xc lite" action
