This is for my brother in law.

We're all going to Centreparcs ( ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) for a wholesome family weekend.

They have a very large 8 month old baby. I'm not sure if they are better off with a baby carrier that goes on the back and fits the rack mounts, or one of those between the legs / toptube type carriers. Or any other suggestions?

They will also use it on cycle paths but probably very little on the road.

I remember someone saying that their kid preferred the toptube carrier as they felt much more part of the ride, instead of being tacked on the back.

That's useful and more or less what I was thinking. Also I think the overprotective parent might prefer it that way.

Anyone else?

One for the evening crowd perhaps. Can anyone recommend a particular model of carrier?

I'm using a Chariot Cougar 1 for my Son. It's useful and unlike a carrier, It can be used as a pram once you reach your destination. Expensive though.

I've got a Weeride you could have for a tenner.

WeeRide. Both mine have used it, I tried the eldest on a Hamax rear mounted for a while and neither of us particularly liked it.

WeeRide means more interaction and a better balanced bike.
