Entering the world of 29er.

Hope you mend soon mate. I put all this heart stuff down to the trauma of dieting 😉

I've got a 2008 Patriot at the moment and if I had the cash I'd be struggling to know what to buy next

I like big bikes, so it would have to be able to take 160mm forks

maybe an Alpine (although probably not much difference to my current bike), or the new Nukeproof Mega, or a Butcher, or a canyon, or a liteville 901

Thinking about a carbon Nomad, or a Niner Air carbon. Both will be 1x10 and tubeless, although not sure about going Mavic 819's again. Have 2 sets already and fancy something lighter.

Hopefully interest rates will go up so I can justify it.

ton - sorry to hear your not riding, get your selfsorted first and don't do to much to soon, I've just bought a new bike so not planning any more purchases, got a downhill trip in Spain to look forward too and some nice trail based rides planned.

Hope you get back to fitness soon

first off i'd like my solitude, kula 29 and cross bike shipped out here to the alps, cos ths snow is crap and i could easily be out cycling at the mo. hopefully i'll have them in the next couple of months.

then...

a road bike to make the most of the alpine passes

that ragley FS which will hopefully come out at some point in the next year

and (i've never felt this before) a DH bike...! (those cheap ones above are tempting). would be a shame to live in morzine and not take advantage of the DH tracks (which are crap on my xc bikes...)

Either a Transition Blindside or TR250, or something else in a LT trail/freeride style to run the new Diverse stuff on and some tuned BOS or Fox FIT forks. 8)

Bought and built but not ridden yet 😳 Not even taken a picture of it either - the hardtail had to go to provide (most) of the bits which was a bit sad but the damn thing was killing my back - Ton, your task should you choose to accept it, is to guess what I went for 🙂

Is on it's way to be built (in blue), can't wait. And for those of you doing the new HX2, I am sure you will absolutely love it. I am loving mine, just adding the full sus for longer rides. Both of my bikes are ton's 'fault'! 😀

Was a really hard choice between FS hard hitting 29er, or go longer on a 26er. Couple of rides back to back mean I am totally and utterly in the clown wheel camp. Just hate the way small wheels get stuck on stuff and i'm too much of a free-mincer to be able to make the most of something properly hardcore! 🙄

Also really really want one of these!!!!

Got well soon mate!

Realistically I'd love a Pipedream Sirius frame for my XC bike, or maybe a Scandal, not decided yet.

And less realistically a BOS Deville fork for my Turner Rail, and a CCDB. Not that I'll be able to afford them!

I'd like a Salsa fatbike, singlespeed and rigid with Hope brakes and Middleburn cranks. A Pugsley would do too.
And a Transition Bottlerocket.
And a Demo7 (and loads of sills too).
And a 29er SS Scandal.
And a cargo Surly too.
BTW A tandem made of steel would be lovely too.

One of these would do me. Trying to cut down the bikes this year, so I reckon one of these

My existing road bike and commuter would see me sorted
oh and the single speed of course 😕

Waiting with baited breath for a Brodie Holeshot Ti to hit the doormat, assuming the postie can fit it through the letterbox.

Just ordered a new/another/replacement Nicolai Helius CC in Candy Red, with all the nice shiny Hope bits to go with it. Just gotta make my mind up on the Forks.

I kind of fancy getting an Alfine'd rear wheel made up for my Genesis i0 and selling the Handjob to cut down on bike stock.

Firstly Ton - best wishes and hope you get sorted and back out riding soon.

Bikewise I mustn't grumble at the mo as recently bought a lovely Bianchi road bike for commuting duties and only need to order some Revs from Loco to get my Cove Hustler re-build going.

Beyond that just a frame swap as hankering after something different to my Stiffee which I still find great fun. Something steel perhaps along the lines of a Soul, Prince Albert etc or just for drooling at, a Brodie ti.

Been mooching over a Blur LT, but the VT is still going strong and flatters my climbing as well as taking care of me when mincing downhill.

So something like a Pugsley just to have something very different from anything I've got.

Hang in there Ton. Springtime soon.

get well soon Ton

a new road bike, something that will last an age, custom Ti or Steel. Perhaps a Roberts for steel, not so sure about Ti, a Mather would be top of my list, but not sure there available

it would be light enough to do the odd TT, comfy enough for long sportives, have rack mounts for light touring and strong enough to off road

Whippet is top of my list at the moment. I'll probably go for the frame only and build it up myself as I want to use the reba forks I have and go back to the rigid RC31's I have for the current bike. I'm tempted to go for a 1 x 10 set up as well. Basically I want a light bike for the summer and longer rides and I'll keep the Rohloff steel framed bike for the rubbish weather and the off road commute. It's a great bike but it's a quarter of my weight so it can seem hard work on occasions.

Just sold my Cotic Soda. Now waiting for a Sabbath September frameset and some dura ace hubs to arrive. Sadly will have to build it up with old bits (apart from the wheels)

Liking the looks of the ragley TD1 but don't think I'd be able to do it justice, and like the singular gryphon but thankfully for my credit card they are out of stock...
