BBC Olympics 6 which is on Sky 455. I presume this is uninterrupted coverage, as BBC 1 are likely to switch between events, aren't they?

Coverage starts at 12.25 on Sky 455 (BBC Olympic Channel 6). Guessing BBC1 will show at least some of it to tell everyone about Annie Last.

I have just found all of those extra Olympic channels; marvellous. Looks like the mens is on at 1.25 on Sun on channel 459.

Is there any channel without Helen Skelton presenting? - she ruined the BMX yesterday and will probably do the same again today with the MTB.

Typical BBC. Sending a beginner down a (smallish) rock jump without knee pads, elbow pads or gloves

To those that said 'No not Essex, it's flat', there's some stiff climbs in there. Looks like an ace course!

Ed Leigh keeps reading the time as though it's tenths and hundredths of a second. "less than 5 hundredths of a second between them there" Er no, moron, it's 5 seconds...

29ers the preferred choice. No surprises there, I guess.

Not being miserable at all, I'm loving it!

Yes, Annie is on a 26". When I went to the test event, it was about 2/3rds of the women's field on 29ers. 1/3rd on 26". Men's race was about 50:50 split interestingly.

She's definitely in with a shout. Start placings (4th for Annie) based on seasons results, I think.

Course looks great on the Swedish coverage we're getting. The rock garden is being hit at some serious speed.

Odd that they're showing the riders in the group by their start number not their actual position.

Nice use of Dugast? tubs by Annie

Looks great but how they can claim its technical when they are riding hard tail hybrids is beyond me

Apparently their tyres will be between 50 and 70 PSI according to Mr Boardman. Hmm...

Rusty, In an earlier interview, annie said the start grid is according to world ranking and she was 4th in the grid, yet she is world ranked 5th, so I don't quite get that.

I don't quite get that.

Someone crashed a few days ago in training and broke their collarbone so that might explain it

Urban myth is that the course will be open but without the really rocky bits, so I guess it'll be the mother of all family cycle parks.

Would be nice to keep the technical sections but I can't see it, unfortunately

Annie seems to have blown up a bit. 🙁

Rumours about the course are just that - rumours. There's no way it'll stay in it's current form, it's way too technical for most people and it's got a high penalty for failure.

of course it's mountain biking - you don;t have a clue

Incredibly impressed by thew quality of the coverage -slo mo tracking shots down the descents etc. I think its easy to forget how much effort has gone into making this both a challenging course - and look good on TV

Chrismac: you're right, it's not MTBing in the STW sense cos they haven't stopped at the top of every descent to extend forks, drop seatposts, talk bollocks and eat cake. Neither have they wasted hours on an internet forum talking about how radcore they are or asking what tyres for Hadleigh Farm.

😉

But other than that, this is what World Cup and Olympic XC MTB racing looks like.

Really enjoying this, no idea what the course is like to ride but seems good for spectating at any rate.

Whoever halfway up the thread said 'this isn't mtbing'- well done, possibly the most idiotic comment I've seen on here and that's some going.

I've always been the first to defend this course. I've also always said mtbing on tv is boring
