What are the odds - and is this an issue - Jury Service Question

So I've been called for Jury Service in March - have read through most of the threads on here about Jury Service, so prepared for lots of sitting around and reading books.

Where it gets 'interesting' is I've just found out my mate has also been called for the same weeks, same Crown Court - is this an issue?

Can't see anything in the guidelines about knowing other Jury members.

Will this be an issue?

If you're on the same jury, maybe/probably, I'd just call it out at the time. If not, then not.

What Nettles said. You might not even end up in a court, but there's usually several cases so as long as you make it known to the personย  in charge when they ask, you;ll be reet

Arrive at same time and make sure officials hear you both say to the other - 'which case are you attending to send the law breaker down?'

That should get you both sent away as you are showing bias!

It might literally get you sent away! ย The clerks are well aware of the tricks people pull, and if nothing else are likely to waste your time in return!

They'd be more likely to ask you to sit and wait to be called, and bring you back every day to sit and wait as happened to one of the guys when i was called. Having attended on day 1 and not been called, I had spent four days back at work after being told "you won't be needed this week, come back next Monday". He'd been arsey and was told to turn up everyday "in case he was needed". Strange then that he wasn't actually needed and spent all day cooped up...

This.

It's definitely a problem if you know someone involved in the case, but we're talking about within the jury.

Ask, because they'll get mightily upset if it's a problem and a case is abandoned part way through
