A couple of years ago I bought a ti frame from china with sliding dropouts
A pair for qr/track nuts for hub gears and a pair for through axles
I fitted the through axle set and found that there was no treaded drive side portion

Does anyone know what should fit in the star shaped depression in the drive side rear end please
A threaded nut for the 12mm axle to thread into...
That small hex bolt will let you remove the star shaped cover. A suitable but will then fit in the depression and then the cover is screwed back into place to hold the nut and stop it from turning.
The thread pitch on the nut will have to match the axle.
What axle do you have?
The nut looks like this one

Thanks
It’s a standard maxle I think
What make is the through axle in your picture pl scotroutes?
That's a Shimano. Some come with a nut, some don't.
You'll need to work out the axle length, thread pitch and "threaded length" in order to find a matching bolt, or replace it with one like the photo above.
Thanks for the advice Scotroutes
👍
The thru-axle should have the thread pitch and length on the axle...which should make it easier to find a suitable bolt.
The photo in situ really helps dove1
That is a super clean drive chain!
I ordered a through axle and castellated nut set from CRC this morning
