i am looking for recommendations for a fork for my new 29er

i want it all light good performance and value for money
Not a great deal of choice in the 29er market i'm afraid.
Default answer is Reba's (Maxle or QR) or Fox F29 but Manitou have a couple also that get reasonable reviews.
I have 2 reba's (120mm maxle and 80mm qr) and a budget Suntour Epicon (100mm Bolt Thru 15). Can't say i really notice much of a difference out on the trails.
Generally the real answer for 29er forks is 'whatever is available at the time' as they are much harder to get hold of than 26" forks.
manitou minute - i got some 80mm work well and are light

The Suntours are fantastic VFM - even more so now at CRC
I made my own using a 51mm offset 29er Csu and U turn revelations. As result I have a pair of 70-100mm adjustable forks with remote lock out that handle brilliantly with the longer offset and cost me very little as the rev's were surplus to requiremnt anywaym
How much was the csu?

I have a set of Rebas and a set of Fox F29 RLC.
The Fox are much, much better - more supple, better damping, stiffer... But then they are twice the price and the Rebas are the original 2005 ones. Probably a lot better now.

the CSU is from a shop in the UK, they have various versions with 38, 47 and 51mm offset with a choice of taper steerer or normal and a choice of white or black crown. 😀
Aren't CSUs silly money though? Which shop?

you need to design the frame around the fork (or visa versa) to get the best out of the bike
the "best fork" for one 29er won't be the same for another
i have designed the bike around 470mm fork at ride height,,
so 80mm will be favorite,,
i think air sprung would be good , easier than trying different springs and lighter , not interested in lock out ,
and some dimensions

the 29er "wisdom" on here is that the fork offset is a critical design
factor (Cy from Cotic, GF and G2, Sam and his singulars) get it wrong and it's a barge, get it right and.....
I'm interested in this as I have an opportunity to buy a Reba Race (100mm) which has an Axle - Crown measurement of 510mm. The rigid fork A-C is 490mm. Will the Sag on the Reba even up the difference? The Frame manufacturer specifies corrected for 80-100mm.
