...ghetto tubeless conversion? Would like some presta-valved tubes but would like the cores to be removable. Are the schwalbe ones suitable?

Yeah we use schwalbe in my group for ghetto DIY conversions they have removable cores. The bigger the better so you have more over lap to grab when trimming.
