To go on a 2010 Giant xtc so 100mm travel is just right?
Should i be looking at Rockshox (Tora, Recon etc) or some thing from Marzocchi?
Mostly used for xc stuff like Sherwood pines wharncliffe etc

when you say 'wharncliffe' do you mean the steep and techy Dh stuff, or the flat and techy xc stuff?
for that money, if you want something that can survive '5 foot drop to rock garden' - it's probably a set of Toras.
they're a little heavy, but very sturdy.
recon are a bit lighter.
