thinking we are in this for the long haul, could use the time I am working to do a stack of z2 training with a view I’ll be super fit when we get the all clear

Anyone use a table that is close enough to be right in front of the turbo so you can still type and use whilst riding? Or if there isn’t a product that fits this niche have you made one yourself?

£200 on the wahoo table isn’t happening (I mean wtf makes it cost that)

I clamp a bit of laptop sized wood in my bike workstand. Works really well. If you don't have a workstand then maybe now is the time?

One of the recommendations on the TrainerRoad forums is to find a music stand, not sure it would be suitable for typing but might be worth a chance.

Alternatively one of those hospital style bedside tables.

Mrs M uses iPad on a music stand for zwifting. The one we have would certainly not support a laptop well enough to type on. Or it might, but with a solid chance that at any given moment it won’t.

I bought this for £12.99 a few months back, now £30!

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Notebook-Desk-Adjustable-Portable-Laptop-Table-Trolley-Sofa-Bed-Tray-Computer-UK/223730465427

I bought a larger bit of cheap mdf to sit on top but that's because I have a crap load of stuff on my table.

Works very well. Might be other cheaper options now it's gone up in price. Loads of similar tables to this on eBay when I last looked.

EDIT: There is a knock off version of the Wahoo table that was around £80 when I looked. Made by "lifeline" I think? The company that make a lot of the wiggle budget stuff.

Found the knock off table;

I'm not a fan of the Wahoo table though. I wanted a bigger more adaptable table top.

Either pedal or type; make your mind up.

My set up. The tv isn't on the table outs wall mounted. That said, it would fit on the table. One of those mega cheap 4k 43" Hisense tv's from Argos. Lots of other junk on the table now since that pic taken.

Wallpaper and mess optimal. Loop on handlebar holds an empty dettol spray bottle to spray water onto face/head etc. Bloody great during a Zwift race etc.

Just started turbo trainer usage, recently.
Arrived at the following arrangement for my laptop, to allow for Zwift/RGT/whatever...

DIY 'workmate' style bench
One of those computer monitor arms that clamp on to a desk (or workbench, in this case)
One of these - https://bit.ly/33CqPAD

Works just fine for me and, as I already had the first 2 items to hand, was relatively cheap

I use a projector stand. Very robust, adjustable tilt/height.

How the hell do you type and ride at the same time?

Lifeline (Wiggle) do a cheaper copy of the Wahoo table - it’s very good

+1 for this. It's basically a more realistically priced version of the Wahoo thing and does just fine, though I've never actually tried working with it, just Zwift and the SF. Adjustable height, sturdy, on lockable castors so your can move it back and forth, water-bottle recesses, slots for phone/tablet.

+1 for the bike work stand.

Use a large chopping board for the laptop, phone speaker and food. All works fine.

I have one of these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gorilla-Stands-Portable-Projector-Laptop-Stand-Table-Tripod-DJ-Disco-Karaoke-/191267225322. Works great, a little bit bouncy for typing but nothing too bothersome

A colleague used to dial into his meetings and sort email (with a laptop stand holding it in front of him) during his hour on the treadmill. Mostly it was fine, occasionally it was hilarious.
