150m into my ride tonight my HR went up to 190bpm from a starting point of 114 bpm (had been running around prior to getting on the bike i hasten to add)
My average on bike HR is 138bpm (tonight was 139bpm) and usual max is mid 170s.

any idea what the cause may be or do i ignore?

Had the same thing happen to me. Spoke to a friend of mine who rides professionally. Apparently the units can get confused around other units, railway lines, overhead cables and even flapping clothing (though manufactures deny the latter).

Hope that puts your mind at rest!

Annoying but not fatal!

Mih, 190 is grand.

Get worried if you can actually feel it going mental and feeling faint etc while you are going easy / doing nothing.

Aye, that'll be it, those things can be pretty exciting, especially the flashing ones 😉

Given they have to 24 hour ECG on equipment worth 10s of thousands pounds to get accurate results for such blips, I reckon you Argos special is not a reliable source.
