Snow! it's been snowing and it's forcast to be sunny too. Lets have your cracking sun and snow pictures please.
I actually have some decent plans this weekend instead of a grimy slog round local bridleways. I'm planning to head out to Bakewell first thing tomorrow for the standard loop out to Eyam and back.

Where are you off?
Should be good, have fun all 🙂

Millstone and Bennachie for me today. Really hard going in the fresh snow and very loose on the way down. The only other person I saw out was a cross country skier

Not so much snow, but enough to make it worth cracking out the B-plus wheels...

Club road ride cancelled yesterday due to forecast snow. Good call, 3" or more here in the FoD at bottom of Dowies. Bound to be more later. Cx type ride instead.

Yesterday, picked a bad day to ride a normal bike and see what my legs are like (not so good!). Snowy Dyfi was quite hard going, I imagine it's a fair bit deeper today too.

Only managed to take one from this morning's ride before my battery died.
Mid Wales local trails. Snow was knee deep in places, and became a real slog.
Had some comedy offs with soft landings where I couldn't tell where the trail went.
The best bit was the look on kids faces as I rode past- mouths wide open, minds blown.

Didn't bother today because I didn't fancy trying to get up our hill plus I wanted to take the little dude sledging.

Went out and rode the off piste stuff at Cannock which had a dusting of snow and was bloody mucky underneath. It was freezing as I got back to the car (by lights).

How did you route your stealth dropper, tied it to the rear brake cable on the down tube and into the hole on the seat tube?

Pretty much, yes. I didn't actually tie it to the rear brake cable, just used zip ties to secure both cables to the same guide, but it amounts to the same thing.

Since it's 1x I think I could could use the "spare" port by the head tube on the right side and run it down the down tube, over the BB and up the seat tube, which would be neater. Especially now I'm using a wheels manufacturing BB with a tube so don't have to worry about the cable rubbing the crank axle. But when the bike arrived I didn't have the correct tool to remove the RF Aeffect cranks and was too impatient to wait. Now I've got the tool I can't be bothered to re-route it as it seems to work just fine.

Hill of Fare today and a much easier day than yesterday.
I got back to my car just as the sun was setting and it was already -7*C!

Bit of a cold wind in the Peak District this morning. Snow wasn't deep, but lots of thick ice underneath, which is odd as I don't recall it snowing lots, then melting and then freezing again.

Anyhow, the ice was surprisingly grippy.

Here's the track from Brown Knowll where it arrives at Edale Cross (top of Jacbos). It was a brilliant descent !

Prompted by the thread here the other day, dug out my Fuji Instax 200 for a play. Forgotten how cool/frustrating fixed focus and guesswork framing (offset viewfinder) could be...

Went out for a local snow night ride after a late afternoon mini-dump (of snow). All going great until I decided to top up my front tyre mid way and the valve sheared off as I unscrewed the pump.

DO NOT BUY VITTORIA TUBELESS VALVES COZ THEY ARE RUBBISH. Or lezyne pumps.

Also, don't be hamfisted and er... don't forget your spare tube. You idiot.

Still, the 2 mile walk in the snow, in spds was good exercise of sorts.

Managed to sneak in about 12 miles on Sunday morning around my local White Peak trails. It was a bit slidey! Great fun.

Went up t'Hills. Too deep to ride. Fell off a fair few times. Pushed it a lot and the evil flat-pedal-pins smacked and punctured my shins a lot. Good to be alive though. In the snow. In the sunshine!

My work was closed today so took the dune out for a razz in the white stuff. Turns out fatbikes are brilliant on snow. Who'd have thought...

College was closed today and yesterday so managed to slog 14 miles down to the bike shop and back to fetch a spare part I'd ordered. Turns out worn Juggernauts aren't so great in the snow!

Can't embed this direct, but have a look at this unusual bit of pre-ride video from lunchtime today...

Never seen it turn to a block of ice like that before Chakaping - unusual indeed !

my BB was like that on sunday, my rear brake also froze on every climb, the frozen snow making the pads stick open, took a bit of commitment to throw my self down the next hill knowing there'd be no braking until friction heat melted the ice enough for the pads to move
