The heat finally caught up with me this weekend and I settled for a couple of evening local loops.

This evening's included a wasp sting and a couple of medium-speed offs into the heather after sticking the front wheel into invisible, baked solid, grassy, ruts.

We should bump this thread in January to remind us all, when these threads get like 5 posts if we're lucky. Very much taking this awesome weather for granted. I'm out again tonight, would be out every night if I didn't have kids.

Not too far Eddie.. I'm the other side of Blewbury hill. Cokie can't be far from you either then.

Went to explore some of the tracks on the north side or Morven. Ended up getting so close to the summit that I dumped the bike in the heather and hiked to the top. Of course, it was a lot further than it looked, but it was such a lovely day to be out. Warm, but not too hot and enough wind to keep the flies at bay. Perfect.

Afan was really quiet on Saturday.  I'd forgotten how much fun the descents on Whites Level are, especially when the place is pretty much deserted.

Biking and bivi round the Dark Peak on Friday / Saturday for me... More photies on my camera (which will probably stay there for a month then give me a nice surprise when I'm stuck inside because it's raining one day) but here's one off my phone from Kinder Scout at around 6.30 on Saturday morning.

Glorious night out, then did an ace ride around Ladybower and Cut Gate on Saturday... Last one for a while though sadly.

Possibly the worst ride in the history of mtb

Met up with some folks at Carding Mill Valley/Long Mynd

* none of them had an Olympic-spec fs
* none of them had any Troy Lee kit
* none of them were on Strava - some hadn't even heard of it!
* one of them brought a dog ffs

Long story short, average speed = 6.7 mph = worst day ever
