@ iainc , they are rock shox recon gold rl which I bought off merlin in the sale , they are quite good but get out of shape on really rocky stuff like the peaks. I do have a set of x fusion velvets to go on soon . They are 120mm in travel ๐Ÿ™‚

cheers Richie - I remembered you mentioning velvets in an old post when I was speccing out my Soul, hence the question ! I have run with velvets for a few months and in process of changing to Reba's, still at 120

Not so keen on the Velvets then iainc? What's making you swap to Reba's?

My lapierre didn't qualify for super bike. So it must qualify for this

Quite like the Velvets, but they are currently being warrantied for creaky steerer and got a deal on new Reba's which seem to be rated as being as good/better. It's likely that I'll put the velvets on the classifieds when they come back from importer with new steerer, crown and stanchions.

Oh, and the picture :

@iainc , yes I remember now ๐Ÿ™‚ I have swapped from a small soul to a medium and the difference is huge ! the medium has a longer top tube and I can fit a short stem which has improved handling too . My velvets had to go back for warranty as I was only getting half travel ! The soul is a fantastic bike for raging round the woods !

As I can only see a picture icon square I presume that your Lapierre doesn't qualify for the "rag around the woods " bikes either ๐Ÿ˜†

It now has a front brake and will have a purgatory on the front soon. Will probably end up going back to a 50mm stem and wider bars as well.

Use a few, all ridgid for here in East Lothian as all we need and low maintenance.
I built another Karate Monkey, ISON`s ex demo frameset and its fun, slacker headangle with a Works Componants headset
2x9 with 750 bars for throwing it about, fun cheap bike ๐Ÿ™‚

Wee build and launch film ๐Ÿ™‚

And ripping some local singletrack...

The gears are being nicked off the Monkey and it will go SS for winter as needed to go on another creation, after i was given a SS Krampus offset wheel set for a Pugsley from Tyler from SURLY after Forth Fat...

Two similar bikes but quite differant

This thing rocks on trails, faster rolling on the 3" Knards and lower pressures give more grip and comfort, a noticable lot more, BB height is an inch higher than a standard Pugsley with these wheels so i can drop it ok and fit 29x2.25 mud tyres for winter (The Knards are awful in mud being a dry dust tyre)
be fitting the steel Jones fork soon too adding to the freakness  and with 2x9 gears it will make a versatile and fun machine ๐Ÿ™‚

Wee build film of the SURLY "KramPug"...

Some local trails...

Bikes that make you smile when you ride them is what it is all about, the KramPug it ticking all the right boxes this now ๐Ÿ™‚

Not many bikes on this thread I would term Woods Ragging bikes (Scott Scale? Really?) ...this however is a Ragley for Ragging.

Wide bars, big tyres, stiff forks, dropper post, slack, ace.
