Morning!
I've not been over here for about 2 years... illness and injury have kept me from the bike. But I'll soon be back out on the trails again, wheezing up the hills as the boss has booked me onto the IOM end to end.
So now that's happened I need to rebuild my hatdtail, needs a groupset, less brakes, saddle, stem and grips... where has the best prices ATM?
Cheers

There was a PSA for an xt groupset from wiggle earlier but it included brakes. Still good price though.

merlin have a 2 x 10 xt/slx mix for £250

or chain reaction will do a deore 2 x 10 for about £200

or ribble cycles for even less

I was about to buy that one from merlin but it's out of stock.... ribble looks a good deal but ideally slx/xt snobbery wins for me.... even tho I know at my level there is almost no difference!

You can put together a decent 2x10 xt/slx mix from bikediscount.de or similar for around 220 quid. Probably save a bit more if you shop around for each component.

That's what I was thinking.... I'm in hospital next week so will be recovering for a week or so.... that's when the research will kick in heavily....

I put together a 1x10 Zee drivetrain (mech, shifter, chain, XT 11-36 cassette) for about £130 from Crc using some bundle pricing they had plus a £20 narrow wide ring from superstar onto some existing cranks not long after xmas.

For a few £ more I could probably have got a sun race cassette (11-40/42) and longer cage Shimano mech.

Cheers saxonrider... I've been lurking on the chat side but having had some serious illness of the mental kind I've had no interest in the bikes... now I'm booked into the IOM I have the impetus I need to get back out there. May even help me get over the acrophobia too!
