[Closed] Water sloshing around inside Orange 5 downtube... how to get it out?

Firstly: no I didn't jet-wash it!

I have absolutely no idea how it got in there, but, at probably a good 200 mls or so, I have a feeling it must be slowing me down a tad! ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Is it best to try draining by dismantling the headset-forks end, or the BB?

Cheers! ๐Ÿ™‚

Drill?

Bottle cages or bb, take out and drain.

drill some holes in the downtube? ๐Ÿ˜‰

probably best to have a go at dismantling both ends...

then air can get in one end while the water comes out of the other

though im guessing there might be a blockage somewhere... have a gentle poke about in the drainage holes at the ends of the tube with a spoke / other pokey thing if nothing drains out

edit: or use the bottle cage holes...

seatpost out - bike upside down?

i forgot to put my grommet back on when i did the rear brake hose recently - im sure my old one is in the swingarm somewhere ๐Ÿ™ and of course is a great entry point for water ๐Ÿ™

Forks deffo. Back of the head tube has big hole that opens through into ends of top and down tubes, so you can tip it out there no problem.

Put the whole bike in the oven and evaporate it out!
Or if you dont have a big enough oven use a blow torch, it shouldn't take too long if you get it good and hot!
Or maybe saw it in half, drain it, then weld it back together again!

That sort of approach could only lead to improved aesthetics when we're talking Orange.

Don't ride it unless it's subzero
