[Closed] Water bottle storage

Inspired by the helmet storage thread (and the tumbling out of many water bottles from the cupboard AGAIN), how do you store your cycling water bottles? Bidons if you must. Or is it just me that has a stupid number of the things?

Putting the lids on them in storage seems to make them get fusty. I tried having them standing in a basket (best solution so far) but it doesn’t seem to take much to have them all toppling over again. Lids and bottles - any cunning solutions?

Both my wife and myself cycle so we've rather a lot. Personally I think they've started breeding.

We've a kitchen unit full of the damn things. They are just stacked in there laying on their sides. I doubt we actually use more than four or five of them on a regular basis.

From time to time we'll clean them with Milton fluid or the dishwasher.

Could use a wine rack with them lying n their side?
Got mine standing up on a rack in the pull out cupboard. My STW one made like a lemming and jumped out breaking the lid, so it stands lidless (hint hint).
Have toyed with the idea of making a board with protruding dowels to stand the bottles upside down on.

We've got one of these hung up in the hidden corner in the kitchen. Although they do overflow still...

Yes it sounds like you have a stupid number of bottles Hannah, I have two as I need two for the bike(s), I use the same two for either bike, so two bottles is the number of bottles I have....

We’ve got a fair few, different bottles for the Mrs as she uses them to take squash to work and I hate the taste it leaves in them. Also big or small, insulated for winter, etc... plus I like to have lots for endurance racing so they can be prepped and ready to go at my pit area.
We have a few of those plastic holders for 6-8 bottles  that look a bit like the old milk bottle carriers , used for racing (as above) and also for storage.
