[Closed] Warranty waiting times - reasonable?

Just had my Giro shoes replaced - 3 week wait which was just about acceptable...

However I have been waiting a month (+ the 4 days for the "we only send warranties out on Fridays" bike shop) and still no sign of my new cranks. It's not like they need to come from another country!

How long is reasonable before I start getting iritated? (First world problem I know) but in this respect, the cycle industry has a lot of catching up to do compared to other retail e.g. The car industry)

*awaits flaming* [sorry about the lack of random capital letters]

In our shop we replace the item there and then if we can, failing that it's a week at worst. We then claim the warranty with the manufacturer after. We are a mahoozive chain so that makes life a lot easier.

Only valid excuses for LBS after 4 weeks is either no stock (with distributor) or distributor delaying decision - both of which are entirely possible IME!

Consumer Rights Act got rid of these silly warranties surely? Shop has full responsibility if you bought recently.

You'd hope so muddyground - workshop staff were very helpful initially and they didn't have any in stock at the time I returned them but now not getting much joy from shop front

Edit: if the manufacturer has no stock then that's a bit of a worry as it is one of the main products tthey do!
