Hi All,

In November I dropped my Enduro expert 29r(2015) into my local specialised store for its annual fork and shock service. ( the rear shock was not performing right)

The LBS shipped the suspension off to TF tune for the service. I received a call about 3 days later telling me that they are warranting the shock as the air and oil chambers are knackered and the internals have fallen apart. So I am getting a new shock That was over 4 months ago.

Anyone else experienced these delays on getting a replacement shock under warranty from SRAM. If so what did you do to get it sooner ?

I have contacted nearly all party including specialised uk. Who have advised me that as the bike is out of the 1 year warranty . It's the manufacture that the warranty on the suspension. There is nothing I can accept wait for stock.

It does happen quite a lot with rockshox, if you have a bike with a non-standard shock (specialized, trek etc) they just dont have stock of them and have to "special order" them in which takes ages.

2 things: I believe your warranty will be 2 years on the shock not 1. Standard is 2, unless specialized do something weird, but then of course they couldnt blame someone else for that.

Also you bought a bike with a most likely weird custom shock. Your new shock will be built by hand in Germany most likely. Hence the delay. Youre relying on Rockshox DE having the exact parts that Specialized spec in stock, which they don't I guess, its normally 6 weeks or so for a regular shock even with custom tune. Your best bet is to go back to specialized- no one else can realistically make it faster for you.
