I have a new sticky Spesh downtube protector to put onto my Diverge, as the original one was tatty and peeling off.
Brought bike in from the garage (integral so not too cold anway) an hour or so ago, removed old one, took off residue with IPA spray and it's sat in the kitchen. The protector has a peely backed 3M sticky contact side, and it's sat on the kitchen table too, so probs at room temp now, given it came in the post mid morning.
I'm guessing leaving bike and rubber thingy for a few hours in a 21 deg kitchen will give the optimum temperature for maximum adhesion ?

A bit of localised heat will def help it stick better, but it also makes it harder to re-position if you don't get it bang on first time. But I also wouldn't worry either way.

I've something to stick to my car, that's I'll prob have to wait till summer to do as it's so frickin cold!!

When I did my Camino last year, I brought it into the house & also warmed the frame tube & protector stuff with a hairdryer.
I also wetted the frame with a very dilute water/shampoo mix (literally a couple of drips in a full spray bottle) which helps with shuffling it about to get it into position. I then used the hairdryer & a squeegee to remove the water & fully stick the edge.
cheers all, bike left for 2 and a bit hours, protector warmed up a little on kitchen radiator, now applied and all done.
