Yep.
I didn't ride today due to 50MPh winds.
Event TVTA put out a warning against it.
Looks a bit calmer tomorrow though so will be out first thing.

Probably just kids coaching Sunday afternoon… but I’ll get a few sweaty rides in next week.

When are they adding a don't like button?

Only joking, I'm pleased for you, really pleased, honestly. I say that with utmost sincerity......

I'd come back at you saying it's your winter looming, but that just makes your riding more bearable, doesn't it? 😠

Well there will be a week or two where I might see temperatures of 5c and it will be dark until at least 6-6.15am. But there’s little chance of rain and by the end of a ride it should be 15c.

On the flip side the trails are basically empty (apart from spiders) so it can get lonely, and … erm … sometimes trees fall over the tracks 🤷🏽‍♂️

Perfect riding conditions in Shropshire, except it’s a bit too dry and it felt too warm today! 🙂

I walked rather than road today, the walk actually followed the bridleway I would have ridden. It was really windy.

Actually I did ride. Just asking the valley to get back to the car. The valley gave no idea of the wind up hi

I've just remembered that cold, wet and windy isn't all that bad sometimes 🤣

Rode up to the local wind farm (just north of manchester) yesterday afternoon - wind was strong but not blow you off the bike strong. If I'd gone in the morning I think that would've been a different story. Just not going to bother today, forecast winds aren't as bad as yesterday morning here but just consistently strong all day.

Wet is fine.
Warnings about hanging trees coming down less so.

For me, I think that wind is by far the worst weather condition to ride in - give me pissing rain over that any day.

When I was in Australia they wouldn’t ride if it was chucking it down due to lightning strikes.
Whether a real problem or convenient excuse I don’t know.

Heading out in the lanes west of Derby, forecasting 25-30mph gusts.

Headwind to the cafe, refuel, get blown home.

Is the theory.....

Typical, changed my plans for something much more boring and it's a beautiful day in Darley Dale.

Put new button bracket in the old Kona and ridden to the gym. In-law nonsense later

MCTD - just ridden down the railway path towards Matlock and barely a gust. Was a bit lairy when I woke up at 7, but calmed down now

I had a loose plan to do a 65ish mile gravel ride stating somewhere around Hathersage. I decided against it after looking at the weather forecast, had a few beers last night and a lie in this morning and when I did eventually get up the sun was shining and it doesn't look too windy. Sitting here struggling to find the motivation to do anything now, just one more coffee and then I'll definitely maybe get out, probably a local (north Notts)  spin on the gravel bike.

I opted for an extra hour in bed as the wind was dropping

Just encountered the big tree down at blacka but conditions great otherwise. Not too windy and no bike wash required.

Yesterday conditions were great, really dry, feet got hot in my waterproof boots, had slight rain over night but I thought it wouldn't make THAT much difference so went with regular shoes and socks today....
