With regards to another thread about who tests their bike, i thought i'd put up Bionicons info.

I'm out on Sunday for the Afan event with a few mates (some on Bionicons, some not)

Starting in February 2012 Bionicon UK head honcho Roger Seal will be offering regular trail rides across the country.

“Every month we’ll pick a location and offer riders the chance to test ride a Bionicon bike thoroughly over a real ride. Normal demo events always seem to be a big rush and don’t give you enough time to get properly used to the bike. We’d like to give riders a real world look at our unique bikes in a relaxed environment.”

The rides won’t just be based from trail centres.
“I’ve found so many great trails over the years, if you come on a Bionicon ride you might have to cope with a bit of bike shouldering and maybe even a stile or two. I can guarantee there’ll be challenging climbs, sweet singletrack descents and smiles at the end .”

As we are a Bavarian company a ‘Tegernsee Hell’ beer is obligatory post ride refreshment. Bring yourself, all weather riding gear and an open mind.

Rides planned so far:
Sunday 19th Feb – Afan Forest, South Wales
Saturday 3rd March, Kentmere Valley, Cumbria
Sunday 4th March, Newcastleton, Cumbria (with Bike Seven)
Sunday 29th April, Mendip Hills, Somerset
Sunday 13th May, Peak District, exact venue tbc.

For more info please contact Roger Seal at:

I've heard Bionicon are going direct and cutting out the dealers. Is this true?

If so, it doesn't augur well for warranty problems.

Yes Epi, same as Canyon i guess.

Well you'd be suprised how accomodating the Bionicon rep for the UK can be when it comes to warranty issues. He's fixing mine today before we are riding Afan.

bioicon rep able help fix your warranty issues good news, do not think canyon service center even has any tools except the one at the end of the phone.

I worked with Rodger years ago before he became the Bionicon rep, I wouldn't want him fixing my bike! Don't think I've met anybody so clumsy and mechanically inept.

They look like great bikes. I admire their approach to suspension - it makes a lot of sense.

However, if they are going to sell direct, they may not be such a good buy for the sort of person who needs the lbs to do their maintenance.
